Advanced TV Factbook

Instructions

To use the Advanced TV Factbook website, you must first log on.  To log on, enter the User Name and the Password given to you by your sales representative.

Note: Your subscription allows only one person to log on using your User Name and Password. Once you are logged on, if someone else tries to log on using the same User Name and Password, he or she will get a message that says, "This logon is in use."

To begin using the Advanced TV Factbook, select one of the tabs near the top of each page (Quick Search, Cable TV, Telco/IPTV, TV Stations, Owners, Services).

Quick Search

  • Allows you to search the Cable TV, Telco/IPTV, and/or TV Stations databases simultaneously.
  • Search criteria entered here will be automatically copied to the Cable TV, Telco/IPTV, and/or TV Stations search pages, depending on the databases selected (allowing you to further refine your search).

Page functions

  • Reset this search: Clears the search criteria for the page (tab) you are on.
  • Reset all searches: Clears the search criteria for all pages (tabs).
  • Records: Changes the number of records displayed on the results page. The default value is 10.

* Premium Subscribers: Changing this value does not affect the number of records included in Query Exports.

Searching the Cable Database

  • Enter data and/or select values from any of the available fields. Click Search to start your query.
  • Click on any listing on the results page to view the details.
  • To combine the results of your search with previous searches from the Telco/IPTV or TV Stations databases, select the appropriate database in “Combine results from:” and click Search again.

State

  • If you do not select a state, then your search will include ALL states.
  • To select multiple states, hold down the Control key (Windows) and Option key (Mac) while clicking.
  • Selecting multiple states will use “or” search criteria.  For example: Selecting “ALABAMA” and “GEORGIA” will display results from either state.

DMA

  • If you do not select a DMA, then your search will include ALL DMAs.
  • Selecting multiple DMA’s will use “or” search criteria.  For example: Selecting “Abilene-Sweetwater, TX” and “Albuquerque-Santa Fe, NM” will display results from either DMA.

Combine Results

  • To combine the results of your search with previous searches from the Telco/IPTV or TV Stations databases, select the appropriate database in “Combine results from:” and click Search again.
  • If search refinements are needed in any of the other databases (Cable TV, Telco/IPTV, TV Stations), click on the appropriate tab, make the adjustments, and click Search again.

Searching the Telco/IPTV Database

  • Enter data and/or select values from any of the available fields. Click Search to start your query.
  • Click on any listing on the results page to view the details.
  • To combine the results of your search with those from the Cable, Telco/IPTV, or TV Stations databases, select the appropriate database in “Combine results from:” and click Search again.

State

  • If you do not select a state, then your search will include ALL states.

Searching the Owners Database

  • Enter data and/or select values from any of the available fields. Click Search to start your query.
  • Click on any listing on the results page to view the details.

Searching the Services Database

  • Enter data and/or select values from any of the available fields. Click Search to start your query.
  • Click on any listing on the results page to view the details.

Export Query Results (Premium subscribers only)

  • To export the results of your query, click Export at the top of the results page.
  • The exported file will be in csv (comma-separated value) format.
  • NOTE: Changing the value in Records at the bottom of each search page does not affect the number of records included in Exports.

Data Download

  • Click Data Download located at the top of each page (tab).
  • Select the type of data you want to download.
  • Select a data file to download (all files are zipped csv format).
